POWER shifting

I'm really new at all this. So i know this question will sound silly but , what the hell. I need to start somewhere.
What does power shifting mean? I see people in here saying power shifting all the time, so I just want to know what do people mean by that...in details please.

First of all if you search for power shifting you'll come up with a lot of results with this same question. Just to answer your question power shifting is shifting without lifting your foot off the gas pedal.

its not worth trying to do. it should really only be used by serious drag racers. it helps lower et(a few tenths) but can be costly on stock cars destroying a clutch, breaking transmissions.
