I accidently installed my pulley too far in the shaft I had to remove it and reinstall it. When I was reinstalling it, it seemed like it went back in to easy and when I sarted my car the pulley started to come out and the belt started to come off I turned the car off and removed the pulley with my hand. Has this happened to anyone? I beleive that the pulley went bad. Could it be the pulley or the shaft?

Well, you have to determine which piece has metal removed from it.

If the PS shaft looks like it has serious gouges, I would suspect it's the PS shaft.

You could possibly get some sort of inside shim. But I don't know where you should get it, nor how much it costs.

A machine shop could make one for you I think.

I just wish our PS pullies were bolted on. What a moronic way to attach something. Same w/ the a/c clutch.
