Was reading another thread and it got me curious. Tried some searches, but didn't find much.

I'm curious if going from my current 4.10 setup to 3.55's would actually improve my 1/4 - 1/8 mile times. Current mods:

306, long tubes, H-pipe, MAC Exhaust, Edelbrock upper and lower intake, flat top forged pistons, world products windsor sr. heads, 24 lb injectors, F303, CAI, 70 mm mass air, 65 mm throttle body, Mark VIII elec fan, DCC fan/temp controller, Alum. Rad, SCT chip and tune by JMS Performance. 05115 NOS Dry Kit (never used and unhooked), World Class T-5 5spd tranny, 4.10 gears, New King Cobra clutch, FMS Flywheel, subframe connectors, air bag in rear spring, etc….

Best I've ever got it on street tires is 8.80 in the 1/8 mile. It spins like craaaaazy so I have to launch it softly. I do have D/R's now, but haven't tried them yet.

Just curious about the opinions from you guys? Would you stay 4.10 or go to 3.55's w/ this setup? I don't run the car much at all, but do like the street/highway cruising. Oh, and the 13-15mpg sux w/ the 4.10's.... :D

Thanks gang.

I know nothing about drag racing, but I have 3.73's in my car. It's a T5 also. I just installed a Pro Motion T5. 1st is 2.95 instead of 3.35. 5th is .58 instead of .68. Before the new trans I wish I would have done 3.55 instead of 3.73. With the new trans it's better, but I think 3.55 would be perfect.
