Well..what is needed to do it ? what is the best way and such? is there a write up anywhere? I hate having my cigg lighter taken up with a power plug..doesn't look nearly as clean..

I took power from a switched 12v source so I don't have to unplug or turn off the detector everytime I shut the car off. I then ran the detector cable along the roof down the a piller into the glove box and WALA! nice clean install with no unsightly cables and such.

All you need is an inline fuse and some crimp on connectors and then go to the fuse box or the battery like you do when you wire up an amp.
Or a cheaper way, you could just splice into the wire going to the cigarette lighter. The detector doesnt draw much current, so it wont overload the circuit and blow the fuse.
