SN95 Regear And Differential Rebuild

So I just got my taxes back and Id like to upgrade my mustang a bit. Im thinking 3.73 gears. My diff needs a rebuild tho. I want to do it myself but it looks like a really intimidating job for a person who has never done it before. Any tips? Should I take it to a shop even tho I don't want to? Any tips on rebuilding a diff?

There's a lot of decent tech documents out there so it can be done depending on your abilities. There are some tools you need to have to do it right so I think many (Including myself a few times) take it somewhere. It's not so much difficult as much as it requires having the correct tools and some patience learning. I do my own installs now and after doing a few, it's really not bad.

I got by with the stock clutch pack, re-shimmed (revised stacking order) for many years.
This last time I went with a True Trac. Not sure if that is in your budget, but it sure is a nice unit and will not wear out like clutches do.
