Hey guys/gals...I've got a 99 GT automatic. It still has the stock 3.27 gears, but I've installed a FRPP aluminum driveshaft. I've seen all the threads on removing the dog bone/mott bar when you change gears and change to the aluminum driveshaft. However; since I only have changed to an aluminum driveshaft, does it still need to be there or can I remove that 10lb weight???

^ The "dogbone," as it is commonly called, "allegedly" dampens drivetrain vibrations (in a stock drivetrain configuration).

As you found out, it can be easily removed while doing drivetrain mods (driveshaft, new/different rear end gear ratio, etc).

just removed my dogbone. but looking at some other threads, looks like people are saying to leave the bracket from the dogbone installed. Did anybody leave the bracket and why?
