Replace key case?

Hi all,
My 05-mustang key is old (just plain transponder Key),
I can get new F-150 key (from pull-a-part) for few buck's ,
the F150 key is cool because it has the remote in one unit,

I just want the case of the F-150 with my key,
If i will take apart the transponder key, will I be able to switch my key to the F-150 case?

I don't know, but if you give it a try, take some pics. I've wondered the same thing about a single unit key.

Negative. They key in the IKT style key is a different attaching blade design compared to the jewel key your car has.
