reverse not working after new carb

Ok now check this out everything worked fine on my car I installed a new carb and now when you put it in reverse the engine dies and its kind of a pud in drive what is the problem???? stock 351w Auto AOD also installed new rearend with 3.73 gears the same day my friends at the shop say my transmition is dead Im hopeing for other opinions well one guy says its a vaccume problem with the carb and the oher says the tansmition is dead WHATS YOUR OPINION?!?!??!?!?!?!

Did the transmission have any problems before you swapped everything?

no it worked fine in the LTD i pulled it out of, would it be hard to put a t5 in it I may just say F-it and go manual

There are a couple good write ups for doing a manual swap. I did one on my dads 4 cylinder vert. Really ain't that bad, just make sure you have everything when you get started lol.
