I am not the one to ask, but it seems to me that 85's, when sticks, were carbed.feifong said:85s were cfi?right?

MagnaflowGT said:I thought the 86's came with 175 hp? I dunno, I saw it on a production number chart somewhere. And the carbed 85's had more. But yes I do know for a fact that the stick 85's were carbed. I had one.
The 86 does not make as much power as the 87+ cars .. this is due to the heads and cam mainly.... 1986 was the first year for EFI
Heads, TB and Upper intake were smaller.
all 86 5.0's were a speed density fuel injected motor, had the non high-out put heads (e6 casting) and were rated at 200 hp i believe.
In '85, the 5-speed cars had a carbeurated motor with e5 heads(the same as e7's) and were rated at 210 horsepower
the automatic cars had CFI and were rated at 165hp on the early 85 cars and 180hp on the late 85 cars
