stud mouted guys c'mon in!!!

Pushrod length will be different for every guy, even for two guys using the same heads.

There is no universal pushrod length for stud mount cylinder heads.

The stock pushrods on late model, pedestal mount small block fords are NOT hardened for use with guideplates.

One can estimate the new pushrod length by factoring in the difference in lobe lift, between one camshaft and another.

If all else is equal, you can take the difference in lobe lift between camshafts, then multiply by 2. This means that you will need atleast that much more length on the pushrod. It would be a great starting point.

Stock is 6.272" measured as the guage length. If it is done by the measured length it is 6.250".

All the same pushrod:)

When you go to order custom pushrods (if needed), make sure you know which measurement they use.

- Guage
- Measured

One may use the same pushrod as another, or they could be a few thousandths off.

I see often, the Trickflow (Summit) heads use longer pushrods by nearly half an inch.

The AFR heads use around the 6.2-6.3" range from what I have seen.

You can buy adjustable pushrods for $20.

Good Luck.
