i can lightly pry against the clutch fork and it stops, or put the clutch in and it stops. the car is still in the air after new flywheel and clutch install, is the clutch cable too loose? after i drive it will this go away? thanks

maybe, maybe not, i've never really looked at it before except on my '67 which has an adjustable end and a return spring so its pretty tight. i though maybe after i drive it the quadrant may click one more time and take up some slack because if i apply just a little pressure the chattering stops. i guess the t/o bearing needs to be centered by centrifugal force then it wont chatter?

well i finally drove the car tonight and the clicking was still there, it seemed to get worse as i drove. so i came back and looked at the clutch fork and it is chattering still and making this noise. i was able to manually make the quadrant click twice and so far it seems gone!
so i guess it was not enough preload on the t/o bearing.
nice to have a problem that is not too hard to fix for once. :D
