Well I was thinking about telling him that "mines bigger" but I didn't want to hurt the guys feelings. Seems you did that anyway. Meanie! It looks small cause it is. N/a setups use a 3-3.5-4" intake pipe, and a common 70mm tb translates to 2.75".
UPR coilovers... 14-175s I think. Junk struts. Rides like a cadillac.Manual steering and what suspension?
As a follow up to this, I haven't ever decided on what to do with this car in regard to suspension. All of my previous endeavors have been drag oriented, but this was never meant to be anything other than a street car. I also never decided on what other direction it should take. Once I can get it running and driving reliably, the plan is to tackle suspension.Manual steering and what suspension?
I have been noticing a trend lately -
- Go into garage
- spend 5 minutes figuring out where I was from the last trip out there
- realize I was trying to figure out how it all went together
- spend 10 minutes figuring out how it went together
- grab tools and parts
- get first few bolts started, maybe 1 or 2 tight
*phone rings* - It's my wife.
- Clean up, go inside.
...Repeat...

Given my current situation with 3 kids under 3, this is pretty much my life, too. My time in the garage is typically limited to 45 minutes to an hour, which is just enough time to figure out where I left off, decide that I rushed what I was doing last time, redo half of what I did and then accomplish maybe 15 minutes of actual forward progress.
Sounds like my garage time...except
Go into garage
- spend 5 minutes looking at car scratching my butt
- take a couple pictures to put on Instagram or "how your car currently sits" thread on SN.
- Wife chimes in over Alexa Dot we use as an intercom "Hun. baby needs bath"
- Clean up, go inside.
- Dream about one day pulling my engine out and actually doing the H/C/I job.

Oh, but it does.Yup, I hear ya too. At least your whole car doesnt need refreshed like mine. Its loose as a goose while driving, but who knows when I'll get the time and money to do suspension.
Did you powder coat your alternator? If so how’d you go about that?Pequena progress
Yes, I disassembled it completely and coated the case. Really easy.Did you powder coat your alternator? If so how’d you go about that?
Hmm is it really that easy? Do you just unscrew it and pull out the innards? Idk why all that stuff inside it scares me like I’d ruin it. Tempted to buy a silver one then do the sameYes, I disassembled it completely and coated the case. Really easy.
Yeah, it really is. Take the pulley off, take the plug on the back off, take the 3 bolts out, and slide it apart. Takes some wiggling but it’ll go.Hmm is it really that easy?
