tires and 16x8 rims

225/50/R16's are the stock tire size for OEM 16"x7" rims. They'll fit 16"x8" easily, too, but you'd be better off going a tad wider with 245/50/R16's, instead, as the 225's might look a tad skinny on 8"-wide rims. The 245's will give you a bigger contact patch (depending on tire brand/type), and there's a lot more styles and makes to choose from in that size than the 225's.

FWIW, the Fuzion ZRi's that I had on my '87 Fireturd Formula (245/50/R16) were EXCELLENT in dry or wet ... up until an old man pulled a U-turn in front of me and destroyed the whole car (including one of the tires that I had less than 2k miles on). :(
