So I'm going to the track tomm. I have some basic cooper cobra street tires. I know not ideal for the track but its all I have. My guestion is should I inflate them allitle like slicks? but maybe only dowm to 25 or something or just keep them at 35? Also I have skinnies in the front how much pressure would you suggest in those I usually run about 40. Thanks

Lowering the pressure a little might help, but with regular radials, lowering it too much will cause it to distort the footprint, defeating the purpose. I woudl start around 25 psi and reduce a couple pounds until you find the best spot.

I agree with 90mustangGT. I wouldn't go below 25 psi however. The main purpose of lowering pressure is to get more sidewall flex in the tire.....regular street tires aren't designed for that at all, spin the tires way before they'd bite hard enough to make a difference with changing psi. Keep them around normal operating pressure (25-32) and that's all you can really ask of them.
