Trying to install 31 spline axles, but it doesnt fit!!

So nobody here has ever tried to install 31 spline axles into the mustang carrier?

i was waiting for teh attitude, ho wmany times are u gonna corect us and say ITS NOT THE SPLINES ITS THE CARRIER, we heard u the first time. ok anyway,

and no ive never tried putting the 31's into the carrier, EVERYTHING needs to match and be new

I do not know an easy fix, but thanks for posting this info. I was thinking about upgrading my toy's axle to 31 spline. Guess I will have to be more carefull.

You could measure the carrier bore and axles, and take the diff carrier to a machine shop and have it drilled or bored, perhaps. Or turn down a portion of the axle. Might lose some strength, but it would fit.

Maybe they're the wrong axles? I just picked up some Strange 33 spline axles and they assure me they will fit!

i was thinking about the machine shop approach too but machine off material could lead to weakness. Probably best not mess with that. thanks though
