Water pump and timing chain questions

1. What is a good high volume water pump to run on the 302 Mustang, using the orginal timing cover. This will be the reverse rotation, I guess.
2. How much slack should there be in a new double roller timing chain set. Mine appears looser than it should be. Probably over 1/4 inch slack, maybe even 3/8"s. It's a new summit double roller. Thanks

Stewart makes a good water pump for our cars. It's supposed to flow about 25% more coolant.

Summit sells a high flow water pump by Brass Works which is the most affordable.

My car has a stewart pump.

Can't say I noticed a improvement, but nothing was wrong with my old pump either.
