Were there 2 different bell housings? I have a C-6 that some guy wants to put behind a 460, and the trans came in a ’73 Torino bolted up to a 351 cleveland. Will the C-6 transmission bolt up to a 351 cleveland and a 460? In other words are the bellhousing patterns the same? Tanks for any help.

there were 3 different bell housings.... the small block c6 used in vans among other things and then 2 big block ones that i know of
the 351c uses a small block bell housing (same as later 289's, 302's, and 351w's)
the 429/460 uses the big block bell housing (also same as 351m/400)
the fe is for the 332/352/360/390/406/410/427/428
i think that covers the c6 bellhousing patterns......
someone correct me if i'm wrong...

I knew of 2, but I checked B & M Racing and there is 3 total bellhousing patterns for C6.

Small block which includes 351c.(rare)
Big block including 351m and 400
FE block

D.Hearne is incorrect, the 7.3 Powerstroke is a 4R100. The new 6.0 PS is a new design which is built by Ford with help from Allison.
