I have an 86 GT that needed a new ignitions switch a few months back. I swapped in my 92's ignition switch just to make sure and it ran fine. I gave the 92's switch back to the 92 and bought a new switch for the 86. Well, I finally got around to putting the switch in the 86 yesterday and it wouldn't stay running. If it did I could just barely touch the switch and the car would cut off. Again, I switched the 92's in and it did the same thing...but it worked fine in the 92. I even put the new switch in the 92 and it worked just fine.
So could it be something in the column causing the car to shut off?
