Well, if I remember right, and you probably already know, trac control cuts the fuel. this could lead to a lean condition that is BAD for boost. Detonation...holes in those marvelous hyperpathetic pistons...broken rings...an unwanted "PVC" valve...

With motorcycles, if they are running lean, they will sneeze and pop through the
carb. Of course XX psi of boost would probably prevent that...

Do a search for traction control delete and get the web address for a little box that will not reset the control to "on" when you start the engine. Cost like 50 bucks. Get it and get it now.

Probably didn't hurt the engine. Loss of power, ugly noises, black smoke, loss of compression and a Giant Mushroom Cloud on the other hand...

Hope everything is ok and I hope you won!

:stupid:

only leave the t/c on if you are driving in bad conditions and you are not going to hit boost. try to get in the habit of turning off the t/c as soon as you start the car.

Here is the info from that pdf file:

Traction control is a very nice feature to have, although it may cause some very serious problems with your supercharged engine. When
the factory traction control system is activated, it will lean the engine considerably and remove ignition advance in an attempt to reduce
engine horsepower output. The rear brakes will also be activated to eliminate wheel spin. This, in theory makes for a very sound system.
For a supercharged engine, this is not an ideal method. The lean fuel condition may cause detonation resulting in engine damage.
Traction control is to be used at the discretion of the driver.

My KB chip keeps the traction control like stock. So I bought the little box that allows the traction control to stay where you put it last, even after shutting the car off. It works great.

I drive my car in the winter and the traction control works great even with the KB blower. I got no detonation when the TC kicked in when I started to spin going up a hill during a snow storm. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to try spinning the tires while in boost with the TC turned on.

that popping you heard is your engine detonating. You where hard on the boost when the fuel system cut out 'cause of the traction control. If your engine is still running fine don't worry about it. The next time you change your sparkplugs take a close look. Sometimes detonation causes plugs to break, but don't trip unless your car is running different. out
