OK, Pro 5.0 or TRI-AX shifter?

I have the Tri-Ax. But if I had to do it again I would get the 5.0. I drove my cousins 01 with the 5.0 and liked it 10 times better.
I'm with SANZ - I, err, rather, we (my wife drives the 01, I drive the 02) and the Pro 5.0 is much preferred. More race car like, shorter shifts, stronger springs. The Tri-Ax isn't bad, it's just more like stock. Plus the Tri-Ax handle has a tendancy to channel excessive vibes as it is aluminum rather than steel as the Pro 5.0 is. Both can be noisier than stock, but this has a lot to do with what knob you put on top. The OEM leather knob is very quiet. My fat knob is quite noisy, but hell, like the exhaust at full trot, who really hates a little gear whine? Haven't we all watched a car race on TV via an in-car camera and heard all the sweet noises and wished that was you driving? Or, at least, wished that your car sounded a bit like that race car?

Tri-ax here. MUCH better shifts than stock, spring loaded, the shifter practically puts itself into gear. I have YET to miss a gear with the addition of this shifter.

It is notchier than stock. At first, it is very notchy, but after it breaks in it gets quieter and smoother. I am happy with it and it feels much better than stock. Stock = wet noodle...tri ax = race car shifter

Tri ax is "more like stock"? Are you kidding? It's nothing like the stock shifter. Good short shifts no more missing any gears. Most people are pretty happy with either unit. I'm totally satisfied with my tri ax...as far as gear whine, it's not that bad. I don't mind the little bit of noise that it makes.

I have the tri-ax. I actually turn the radio off and put the windows up to hear the transmission through the shifter. My g/f likes it too. Anyway, it can be difficult new (mine still hasn't broken in yet) for shifting through town. I find my self slamming gears when driving through town because it feels so wrong when shifting slow. I drive slow, just shift fast and hard. I don't miss 3rd when I shift right. Shift right as in, just push straight up and not up and right.

Overall: I like it. Not sure how the Pro 5.0 is compared to it but I have it on the lowest setting and didn't need to cut the boot. I also don't have reach problems. I do sit kinda close because I can't hit the clutch otherwise. Install was easy too.
