what shifter should i get

Dittos here - a Pro 5.0 with Tri-Ax handle (handles are cheap (>$30) and I just wanted to try it out, so my wife and I swapped)
IMO, the Pro-5.0 is more race car like, and the Tri-Ax a more beefy but still OEM like shifter. But are built similiarly, but the Pro-50 shifts are shorter, and albeit a bit notchier, they are more race car like. The Tri-Ax is more like the OEM design, but built very well. Neither has any dampening, so the feel for each is similiar. The handle of the Tri-Ax is aluminum, longer and twisted over toward the driver and back a bit like the OEM handle, the Tri-Ax is steel, short and straight.
If I had it to do over again, I would not have bought the Tri-Ax, but I would have waited and ordered another Pro-5.0...but it was cheap and immediately available, so we jumped at it.
Either one is high quality.

www.fatknobs.com - love the classic look and feel.

whats the best place to get the pro 5.0 and how much im lookin to spend? thanks for the input

Jegs or Summit, you can't go wrong either way. Also while it is being shipped go to Steeda and order their Tri-ax shifter handle. I promise you will be happy with the combo! :nice:

PRO-5.0 all the way,

i liked my tri-ax, but it broke about a month after installing it(removal was a pain too seeing as parts of it went into the tranny,) pro-5.0 hasnt had a glitch yet, cant miss a shift if i try

I love the feel of the Steeda Tri-Ax but you have to change out the shift knob too. Get a billet one they feel the best IMO.
ehm, untill a hot day rolls around and your cars out in the sun for an hour or more.........i had a blister on the center or my right hand from one of those MAC aluminum ones

I love the stock leather shift knob. I have the 99+ knob in all three of my Mustangs. I'm just used to it. Never slipped on me and i love the feel.

Plus it doesn't get warm after 2 hours of driving
