Alright, i already know that this isnt the best thing to do for the tranny. Im going to the strip next Fri, and this will probably be the last time i go this year. My best is a 15.06. And thats from just sticking it in OD and flooring it. I know that doing the shuffle will help me out a lot when it comes to my tranny shifting. At the track its shifting at like 4900rpm, which is really killing me, that and the 2.73s out back. Im only doing the suffle 1 time, so hopefully everything will be ok. I just got the Transgo kit and will be installing that along with my 4.10s this winter, so i wont have to worry about the 1d1 shuffle anymore. I was just wondering what kind of difference it makes, how many tenths will it shave off? Ive heard 3 to 5 tenths, is that correct???? I tried it last night, and it is a noticeable difference. Just wondered if any of you have any experience in it

Be patient and wait till you get the TransGo Kit in and you wont have to do the shuffle.

First of all, when you race AOD's you dont DONT DONT stick it in OD and floor it. STick it in D and floor it, you dont want it shifting into OD at the track.

A lil patience will go a long way, or else you'll be waiting even longer when you have to replace that tranny.

Whould it be ok if i manually shifted from 1st to 2nd? Is that bad on the tranny? Im getting a pretty clear sign with the 1d1 suffle, "DONT DO IT" so i guess i wont be doing it. But is it bad on the tranny to manually shift from 1st to second?

dude it wont kill your tranny to do it a few times at the track. I've done it on mine hundreds of times and it's fine. Just dont do it all the time. I'm saying you will pick up 2-3 tenths by using it

I dont see how the 1d1 shuffle would even be hard on the tranny anyway? How is it any harder on your tanny than just trying to manually shift it? After you shift 1-D and then stick it back into 1 it still stays in 2nd gear, So what is it hurting?

2-3 tenths whould be great, plus its supposed to get really cool here later this week, highs in the upper 50's. So all these factors should get me a new best!!!! If i dont get 14's im gonna quit.lol

Lol, all those mods and you are running 15's?? :D

I gained .2 consistently when i 1-d-1 shuffle.

Doa search on my name and you'll see a thread not too long ago where we discussed the 1-d-1 shiffle "art" in great detail

EDIT: nevermind, it's your thread :)

Even with the shift kit you will still have to do the 1D1 to get full use of all the gears, even if you get a aftermarket shift you will still be doing the 1d1.To solve this 1D1 problem you have to get a different valve body ( TCI/Lentech)

wrong, i have a TransGo Shift kit and can shift at 6500 rpm if i wish or i can shift earlier by letting off on the gas a bit like you would in a manual car. The guy who did my trans has a performance shop and was able to extend the rpm by simply makin a few small mods (ie bigger holes, stiffer springs).

Its your car though, it seems you know its bad for your trans but are looking for justification for doin it. I have personally seen that method destroy transmissions. So, if u wanna......go for it.
