Radar Dectectors

I sell the Escort radar detectors and run the 8500 in my car, it's the best I have ever had, I love the large display that shows the band and the spectrum analyzer of which bands are clocking and what strength. I also sell the K40 RD-850 which is a pretty nice unit but I just can't get used to the small led lights that you have to memorize...

Go to radartest.com for great comparisons on different models

I would only look at Bel or Escort. Especially Escort--it has the ability to be upgraded through a data port. Escort 8500, Bel rx65 would be my choices...
I agree, if you are going to get a detector, get a good one. Bel, Escort or Valintine1. Just for the record, Bel also has the ability to be upgraded through data port.

valentine beats escort. (even though the the guy who builds valentine builds escort). my dad has a valentine in his car and its amazing. i have a cobra in my car from best buy and its ok but not nearly as good as the valentine. just spend the money and get the valentine its the best radar out there hands down.

I have the Valentine in my Stang and a Bel in my truck and also a Bel in bike, I actually prefer the Bel,[also better service, and exceptional warranty] warranty aside, I guess it just comes down to personal preference as to which one is the better of the two.

Save your money. Get a mid-range priced radar detector and learn when to speed.

When you play Halo 2 you don't just run around at full speed shooting at everything. You stay low, pick your moments, then blast away when the moment is right.

Speeding is the same way. Identify potential speed traps. If you were a cop, where would you hide to be able to clock people before they realize you're there? Imagine a cop shining a bright light in your direction. Hide in the shadows of other vehicles and when you have good cover and an open stretch, blast it.

What he said is absoulutely true. I always explain to my customers that they have to use the detector wisely. Just because you buy one doesn't mean thats a ticket to just speed wherever and whenever. When on the road by yourself you can't just let it loose, you have to use it wisely when other traffic is around.
