SN95 seats in a fox?

Wasnt sure if this belonged in tech or talk but its sorta tech. Anyway, how hard is it to fit 95 and up seats in a fox? Do they bolt to the stock seat tracks? Will the later tracks bolt in without much fabrication? If anyone has done this i would appreaciate some input. Thanks

I put 2000 GT seats in my coupe. I used the power brackets that came with them and they bolt right up. Here are some pictures.

Here's how I wired them up.

Wow, those look really good in there. Any issues with them fitting (hight, width etc)? Im guessing since their out of a 2000 then just about all year seat brackets should work. If you dont mind, how much did they both cost you with the track and everything?

Thanks.

I did not have any issues with them fitting. I am 6' 2" and weigh 220 and they were great! :nice:

The rears required some work to get them to fit though.

I bought the front and rears for $400 from a friend of mine.

Thanks for the help, looks like ill be looking around for a nice set of seats. One last question (i hope) were there any problems hooking up the electrical stuff, did any of the connectors match up or did you have to splice some stuff? I have a gt with power seats so all the wiring should be there.

No problem.

I had to run some wire with some female speaker connectors to splice between the factory plug and the seat plug. (See the above picture)

The connectors do not match up so this is how you can get them to work.

Your GT plug is the same one as the small plug in the bottom of the picture so it will work just fine.

The reason I went with factory seats is they bolt in without making brackets or adapters and they cost less than buying most aftermarket seats and trying to adapt them.

Just the frustration alone trying to adapt them and also knowing that the brackets are OEM strength and design make them much safer in case of an accident as well was a big factor for me in making my decision.

Good Luck.

Kevin

I would note that the power SN seats are kinda famous for breaking their mounts and also the motors crap out (a lot of guys convert to manual seats, present company included).

I think the horrible fox seats are comfier than the SN seats, but I am an oddball.

Kevin - you did a real nice job with the retrofit. :nice:

Is this true for all SN seats or are there certain years I should shoot for? I want to convert because my seats are showing signs of thier age plus have a little bit of a lean going on. I think stock seats are a good idea for pretty much the same reasons as Kevin, plus their built to last longer then racing seats.

Really, I dont know. When I got mine, it had a bad mount (corner snapped off) and the power motor died thereafter. So I did some searching and figured out what I wanted to do. And now I try to reply on all the threads about the seats not working or wobbling (why I have a mental tally of this being not-so-uncommon). The motors seem to go more often than the seat breaking physically :)

I have a 94GT so that was my frame of reference.

Good luck.

I had 94-98 black leather front seats, i hated them so i took them out, sold them, and bought some 'racing seats', the leather ones were HEAVY!!
I have had 98 Leathers in mine and I dont think they are as comfy as the stock leathers, and yes they did sit higher than stock. I think the best late model seats for comfort would be Bullitts, Mach 1s, and Cobras. I had an 02 GT and the seats were like sitting on a piece of wood!

got my sn95 seats for $90 at a junk yard, reupholstery $200, put the driver side on a 2002 gt elec. rail $80 (ebay), had to put washers on the rear so they would work, all said they are not to comfy, they sit tall and you dont feel planted to the car, they do look bad ass!!

Any more pics?

How did you get the rear seat to fit?

I'm thinking of looking for a set of 99-04 Dark Charcoal leather front and rear seats and putting them in my LX.

My GT has the same seats and they are so comfortable and look great.

I would avoid 99-04 seats unless they are Cobra, Bullitt, Mach 1. The GTs keep you from putting your head back against the headrest, if you want your head to touch you have to bend your back and then your neck, very uncomfortable. They look nice yes, but if you drive for any length of time you will regret it.
