I got dirty wheels!

anyone noticed that a lot of brake dust collects pretty quickly on the front wheels? I just cleaned my wheels a week and a half ago and they are already covered in brake dust, seems ilke a lot to me. My pads are fine, just struck me as strange that there was so much...

nah it happens...did u just put a new set of pads on? depending on what type are on its normal...it sucks...but id rather have the dust then them not working

70%-80% of braking occurs on the front.

it just seemed like an awful lot compared to my old fox body, no i didnt just replace them, but next time i do im gonna put premium ones on there...

I think it's the pads they make now. My wife's escape is the same way.

not sure if it helps, or maybe its a bad idea but on my stock rims I "wax" them like they where part of my car. Seems to give a smoother finish and its not that bad a problem. I say "wax" cause i use Zaino~. Looks great seems to be effective and not much build up.

get some ceramic brake pads the signicantly reduce brake dust. im getting those when i need new pads.

I think it's the pads they make now. My wife's escape is the same way.

My friend with a 2000 GT (stock wheels) gets brake dust like CRAZY on his fronts. Mine take a while (Mach 1 wheels) to get a lot of dust on them. It's strange. But I have stock brakes, and he has Saleen brakes. Maybe that's why.

It always happens quicker on the front wheels, because the rotors are larger meaning more contact and more debris. My dad's cobra front 13" rotors turn his freshly cleaned chrome wheels to gunmetal in a few days.

i dont understand why, but my back wheels always collect about 2 or 3 times more dust than my fronts. its been goin on the entire time i've owned my car.
