I give up on my 5.0

Hey,I know what it's like to have a POS to deal with.My '88 T-Bird had one set,the driver's,no headliner,no lights on the exterior...at all,no trunk lid,a 3.8 V-6,2.73 rear with one rear shock, and huge holes in the dash,3 different kinds of wheels. It was sad.I didn't look at the whole picture when I repaired it.I looked at one thing at a time.Seats,Mustang LX.Dash,Cougar XR-7.Removed the column shifter and replaced it with a floor shifter from the Cougar.Headliner, salvage car and $50.00 at the upholstery shop.Trunk lid, lights, wheels (turbine wheels.....for now),misc.nuts and bolts, salvage yards around here.Engine,Lincoln Mark VII.Intake,Explorer,etc.etc.etc...........My point, fix one thing at a time, and eventually, you'll look at the car and see that it really is progressing. It has to be a lbaor of love.I have a bond with my car (sounds stupid, but I wouldn't trade it for anything). It took too much blood sweat and pain (no tears except when large amounts of dirt and crap fell in my eyes while working underneath).Bottom line build it or don't.You have to start somewhere.Start working. My car is down to 3150 lbs, runs ery strong, and I'll have my new exhaust on in a week or two.Patience, and everyone's help here will make your car great. It's just a matter of what you are willing to do to get what you want.

You guys think you have it bad? look what I have to rock, (now it has a red passenger side door and a dark blue drivers side door) and add one more for floaty valve springs. not to mention my quater plastics are out for the quarter window removal. But its one thing at a time hopefully by next week its going to be in primer, and then another couple of weeks its going to be painted viola! a nice car! all it takes is a little TLC and a good plan on how your going to do things, dont expect it to take a few weeks. It takes alot of time to have a nice car. and stop argueing about this crap like a couple of 14 year old girls jeeeeeeez

dude you cant quit now :nono: ! If we all just quit our beloved foxes would eventually end up at the salvage yard, and then off to the crusher. Ill tell you right now your not going to turn a pos into a super fast showcar in a few weeks (unless your Chip Foose :hail2:). It takes time, Ive seen some pretty bad cars that didn't even deserve to have the mustang name, and with a little tlc the were very respectable street cars that could kick ass and take names at the show too. So unless your a panzy get back under that hood and make us proud!

I would not say its a pos. Just needs more work. I dont think a project car is ever really done. I am constantly dealing with small things on my car some related to an accident back in December, three days befor x-mas. My car was parked and I was inside watching a movie. 6 weeks at a body shop, and nothing mechanical was ever looked at. Now after about four months of driving it, I have noticed front drivers side tire is wearing very bad on inside and she has developed some leaks since then. I am all for forging ahead and meeting my goals however now I have to fix some stuff I should not have to. I bought my car in 95 and I am still along way off from being finished. Better brakes, new paint, more suspension mods, stroker motor, bigger blower, ported heads, better seats and I could go on and on and of course only getting on number on my lotto tickets is really dragging all this out to.
I cant imagine being done, where is the fun in that?
