By the way For the most part, I am not a huge fan of law enforcement, but they are (for the most part) over-worked and underpaid, and they do good things.
(like pull me over for window tint on a sunday morning headed to church, or don't investigate a moving company employee that walked out of my house with my loaded glock .40 cal., or can't find the kid that hit and run my car in front of my house even though I gave them make, model, color and address of kid that did it because I followed car parts to his house and up his driveway).
They do good things really when they have time.......
As far as getting so bent out of shape over something so minor......:nonono:
Now hopefully you will learn how to deal with these things in the future.

I guess I really shouldn't have blatantly said "I hate cops", I know we absolutely have to have cops and they keep our streets safe and clean.

Don't get me wrong, I respect authority and know the need for police officers. I don't go out speeding all over creation and causing trouble because I don't respect police, when in fact I do respect them a lot. I just hate it when cops think they are above the law and overstep the law.

I am of the the very strong opinion that we need major reform in the police departments in America. And the very first change there needs to be is that our law inforcement officers need to paid much higher than they are. The average cop only makes $30k per year, which is not nearly enough for the BS they go through. I think that alone would help a lot with the "God complex" that so many cops get because I really think many cops are just plain bitter that they don't get paid squat for what they do! They need to be at least $50k per year!

There also NEED to be checks and balances - cops should not be able to do whatever they want and ruin whoever's life they want to just because someone gets under their skin. Most of the time cops CAN do whatever they want, simply because it is the civilian's word against the cop. The cop might get a slap on the wrist or yelled at behind closed doors in the chief's office, but nothing other than that is ever going to come of it because if the officer were to get suspended or or punished or something, that would mean the department is "admitting" to wrong. So there is no punishment to keep the cop/s from doing it again.

Every cop in America should be wearing one of these:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19750278/

And the feed from these "head cameras" should be uploaded securely not to the police department, but there needs to be an authority not at all linked or associated with the police department to "check up" on the police.

The above head camera can not only be used in court to show evidence against perpetrator, but can also be used to look into instances of cops out of line. But I think just a cop knowing he had a had cam would keep him in line.

Yes, yes, I know the big issue with this is $$$, and I'm not a politician but I do know that if there was enough support behind something like this and enough warrant for it, the government could and would allocate the funds.

And I'm totally :OT:

Never been in law enforcement, nor have I ever been on the bad end of it either. I think casey more or less meant the guy stated he was a cop and was not going to do exactly what he did. Had he not said that, the cop thing wouldn't have come up.

If someone tells me they are in a position of some importance and because of this they wouldn't kick me in the knee. Then a week later kicked me in the knee. You better believe it would sour me a "little" towards that position of importance. You do afterall represent what you do, or stand for, remember that!

It's VERY true that some become cops because of a long history of being picked on, or lacking socially. I know a couple of those. One even became an MP in the army.

I've only known 2 cops that I have liked. They did it for the greater good and were very smart and way underpayed. One was a Professor in college and another was a friend's dad. I loved them. But the rest? I've been pulled over for speeding without being radar'd and told I was, pulled over and issued a ticket for racing when the girl I was "racing" got a speeding ticket, kicked out of parking lots, issued a warning for running a red light that I very clearly did not run, etc etc etc... Too many to tell.

In general, just because of the idiots in Huntsville, Atlanta and New York I've seen, I don't like Cops at face value. Like I said tho there are some good guys out there who really care about their work.

This one little punk in Manhattan actually walked over to me and started sniffing to smell the cigarette I was smoking to see if it was something else. I just smirked at him. Loser.

I understood what you meant with your first post.

What I got from it was the dude's arrogant, nonchalant attitude toward the deal that he made in the first place, only to turn around and renege on that deal. Then he figures he'll turn the whole situation around on you and act the "Big tough cop" to try and defend his position on something that he screwed up.

Instead of the dude just coming out and saying. "Yep... I hosed you because even though we had a deal, I went and made a better deal behind you.", he puffs out his chest and says he's going to file harassment charges. LOL

What a tool.

So yeah... I got it that you weren't out the rid the world of cops but that this guy is a douche bag and you were on a rant. His attempting to use is position as a tool of the dispute only makes him that much more of a douche bag.

If that's how he handles himself regularly, I'm betting he's a lousy cop and will probably not make it to retirement.

Quit bein a punk ass and raggin on the police, there are *******s in all walks of life, if I found a black interior for $425 picked up and it were only 3 hours away, I would have went that evening of first thing the next day and got it, when you find a deal you jump on it, not drag ass around about it. You drag assed and lost out on the deal, you created your own problem.

I think that's been said a few times. He's got the picture now. I'm sure next time he'll keep the guy on the phone for the entire three hour drive to pick the stuff up.

I actually told him I would drive down that same day but he said he had to work double time that day and the next 4 days, and I wouldn't be able to come until Monday (the day after the auction ended). So it's not like I took this as some run of the mill deal that comes along twice a week, a knew it was a steal, but he probably just told me I couldn't come until after the auction planning to screw me if he could.

no cash/item exchange=no deal made.I can't count the number of times someone was "one the way" to pick something up and not showed. It goes both ways.If I won an auction you had and you told me you promised it to someone who made an offer I would report your a55 to ebay.Thats dirtbaggery.

By your own definition, winning an E-bay auction is not a deal.

You should have just bid the crap out of it on the ebay auction and paid that amount. You cannot trust people over the phone. I got screwed on two sets of tailights. They were perfect in the pics....they wrapped them in nothing ut the box and came in broke. Two different sellers. I got my refund, but I lost 4 dollars in one transaction for Pay Pal, and 5 dollars on my credit card because I got charged interest on the T/L's that I didn't pay for that month, because I wanted to make sure I got my refund.

The other guy refunded me more money than I paid, so I didn't lose money...he was a very nice guy!

   Geeez, thanks man! guess you forgot about our internet purchase/deal. Haaaaaaaa Just kidding:p

Now, to the thread starter: One, I'm a deputy sheriff and when I see titles like the one you chose I have to read it. Two, did you confirm that the seller was actually law enforcement? If you believe everything you hear over the phone or read on the internet you are naieve. Three, maybe the seller said this to make you send the money and then disappear. Three, if this guy is a cop I hate him too! There's enuff bad cops out there and I don't need them tarnishing my good image. Sorry bout the deal gone bad,,gotta be careful when shopping over the 'net.:nice:

People complain about how professional athletes should live as an example to the young they influence and maybe so, However a Cop should live under the scrutiney of every eye. There job is to serve and protect and if they can't carry a level of integrity in all aspects of there life than are they really any better than the guy they just cuffed and stuffed. They made a decision to wear a badge and put themselves in a position that has a clear line on right and wrong, cant sell drugs to someone then bust them for posession. Used to be a mans word was worth something.
The funny thing about it is this guy made a point of selling himself as a cop and insuring a fair deal. I dont know about the rest of the people on here but I dont require a resume as a prerequisite to a deal.

Never even thought about that, but definitely a possibility. Though when he was going on and on about giving me some class 3 misdemeanor felony harrassment charge or whatever the heck he said, he sure was talking like a cop.

ADVICE NEEDED

Ok, I kinda need some advice from you guys on this...

The guy I spoke to on the phone about this whole thing told me he had his buddy list it in the forum classifieds for him. What was wierd was when we PM'ed back and forth 2 or 3 times through the forum the guy talked to me like he was at the actual owner of the parts. So do you think he deserves negative feedback??
