aight while i was taking off my stock headers, i came across something that seems to be sorta like a valve between the drivers side header and my h-pipe, what is this? is it important? and if i can remove it will my bbk's im installing still fit??

thanks,

Hear riser valve, to shut off the exhaust to allow for faster heat up... Not sure but thats my guess

That's what it is. I beleive it's specific to '85's only

You can remove it, but to do so you need to pick up an 86-93 header to replace it. The other header you have can stay. Should be easy though to find someone selling stock headers.

yeah it looks like a throttle body between my headers and h-pipe, but im gettin bbk equal lenth shortys from summit, they are on the way and i decided since i m taking off the smog pump tubes, why not delete it, ive tried several diferent belts even made my way down to a 81.5 inch belt but that is still too big, which i though was odd
