BLOWN 5.0 FOX BUILD THREAD

ENGINE IS IN...

Now the fun begins routing the wiring/fuel lines/vac tubing ... everything was pretty much mocked up , the flowzilla manifold is actually alot closer to the booster + firewall than I thought it would be so Im going to have to get creative, and possibly run the manifold spacer which introduces all sorts of new obstacles (need for cowl hood, KB snout bracket etc) Id really like to be able to run a stock hood!

update (no new pics as of yet) :

OEM hood sent out to body shop for colormatching

fuel system wired (Pump/Controller/Relay etc)

Custom mail order SCT chip by DEZ racing being programmed this week

still on the NEED TO DO list:
make all the AN fittings
route fuel lines
install Snow MAF kit
Mount and wire ignition/coil
order:replacement rad/fan/dizzy (accel billitech?)
modify e-brake
fabricate alternator notch on pass VC
and other misc jobs

all this before FFW august 15th :( Ive got ALOT of work to do!

well guys, unfortunetly I wont be attending Fun Ford Weekend this year. Ive encountered way too many complications that its become obvious I wont be finished come mid august.

For starters, the MM shaft hits my bbk shorties and binds the steering.

my alternator hits my pass VC---still waiting on my tig welding connection to follow through and fab the corner

believe it or not Im having problems finding correct hardware for the accessories (SN95 conversion brackets for the SN95 KB)

realized my inner fenders are from pre 87 and will not fit....with my wiring hiding they are must have item this time around- local junk yards???

front rims rub coil overs- must find quality spacers (MM?) not trusting cast alum autozone specials

My biggest letdown is my fuel lines have been at the local speed shop for 3 WEEKS!! I keep calling and calling and they tell me a couple days .....monday....wednesday....etc
personally I think they might be having a hard time with them, so I will have to double check their work. I gave it a whirl putting the AN fittings together but it was impossible. I brought the line back to the shop and they told me the AN- line was of poor quality ...once I reminded them I bought my line from them , they took the responsibility to find hose that worked with my aeromotive fittings and assemble them for me (for a fee of course). So I guess I cant be mad, I just want my fuel system finished!

on the bright side: Mike Dez has been in contact with me and let me know my sct chip is done and should be pretty close.

To sum up the rant: too many parts, not enough time ...see you at Tasca???

I Might Dave- but not likely, to be honest Im pretty upset over the whole ordeal. Theres always next year. I really want to focus on the interior over the winter, might switch to 100% black (Im halfway there)

I hope Tasca gives me a little gratification. This car will be incredible when its done.

Yea but next year FFW for me will be GA and TN. Maybe VA too :D

When's the estimated completion date? I know a few cool shows happening down my way later in the year.

Not sure at this point. Id like to at least be able to enjoy a few nice weather rides to get used to it. I plan on chasing 11's next year, and a trophy at a show would be nice.

why are you touring FFW? are you making it to NH?

LOL no, I'm moving to SC.

I know how that feels getting some drives under your belt. I'm wishing ya well so I can see it out at a show sometime :nice:

didnt make it to fun ford, and I hear it wasnt such a great event afterall

I did however manage to get the speed shop to finish my fuel lines, so I hope at least now I have progress and hopefully I can regain my momentum and get this thing finished before Tasca!!!

Ill keep you updated as usual guys

update:

I JUST received my fuel lines from the speed shop-(2 months to make 6 lines/fit 12 AN fittings...never go there again!!!) needless to say Ive gotten behind on the build!
I recently bought a house which will need some work so the mustang will be pushed to the backburner (until the new garage is finished anyways)

See you in the spring!!!!

gahhh that sucks! glad to see you found a house though! your car looks an awful lot like my car will when i'm done with it here in a couple weeks, save for the wheels and tail lights. point being, it looks badass! hope to see more progress back up soon!

update...well kinda:

After spending a few weeks gutting the new home purchase(needs alot of TLC), I decided to pick at the car today.

Installed my SCT chip in the EEC (I was so bored I even polished the casing of the EEC)

looking into ordering "custom" studs for the KB outlet/manifold, and will soon be sealing the unit with the new studs and anaerobic sealant.

I simply can not wait for my spring project, the 2 car garage! currently the house I purchased has a 1 car garage which is in disarray- Ill still store my beast in my parents garage for the time being, but I plan on building the garage of my dreams which will make it easier to work on the stang anytime I wish.

Stay tuned- I will be making strides as soon as the house is buttoned up (windows/siding/bath/kitchen) and will have more free time to bang out whats left on the stang!! sorry for the slow progress but the time to buy is now! For that reason, I am fortunate to be able to keep such a project going (slowly but surely)
