sometimes hard to get into reverse

Typical T45 TR3650 problem. What I do, is put it in 1st, roll forward about 1/2" or 1" (doesn't take much) then put it in reverse. It goes right in when I do that. I even had a new replacement T45 do this crap to me.

Same issue here with my 2002 GT. It's been doing it for years now. Thanks for recommending the 1st gear trick I'll have to try it.

p.s. It seems to be worse the hotter it is.

No problem guys. Yeah, sometimes 5th, then reverse works. It works for my Cobra, but not my notch with the T45. I do the roll forward in 1st, stop, then go into reverse. Works like butter. Just don't roll into your garage wall, or tool box. :rlaugh:

there is actually a TSB for that, and another one for a 1-2 clunking noise. both tsb's call for ford to look at them.

I'm interested in reading these TSBs. Anyone have a link to them?

My 3650 is exhibiting BOTH of these issues, but is way out of warranty. I can't really afford to pay Ford to do this and I'm not scared to pull a manual tranny apart. Although if it is not much more, I would be more than happy to replace it with a T-56...

EDIT: Nevermind, I found those TSBs posted on here!!
