Oil and filter quick Q's?????

Hllo, i tried searching for my answer to the following question but i've come up short.

I recently bought my Stang and now its time to change the oil right about 50k mile. (i cant wait)>!!

Well, my question is that i plan on going to full synthetic not caring what was in there before. im also going to use this new filter from Fram(XG-2)it sys it'll last up to 7000k. im not going to wait that long though. i wanna change the oil every 5k miles from here on out. I that a safe time interval for the oil change?

i might add that i will be replacing the fuel fliter and cleaning the CAI fiter the car came with as well. Im also going with ohh so famous Seafoam too. I've read great things about it...

I love this site :hail2:...after so many years i finally got my 02 Zink Yellow Rocket:D

Thanks in advance.!!

ok, its got a motorcraft one in there now. ok, now do i get 5 or 6 qts? i think i'll go with six and put in five and check from there even though the book says 5.
thanks for the quick replys..im using castrol syntec..any thoughts?

Of all the filters I've tried, the Motorcraft filter has consistently given the least clatter on start-up, even after extended periods of not running, because it has the best anti-drainback valve. The ADV helps hold oil in the engine galleries instead of simply draining back to the pan and to me, this is perhaps the most crucial difference between Motorcraft and all the rest.

ya, after reading all the horror stories about fram i would never use one.

I know this is off topic but I always have read about the horrer stories on fram filters, and how they look when people cut them open etc. I will say this, my parents have a 94 chevy 1500 truck with the 350 in it. 265,000 miles on the original motor. Used Fram filters from the first oil change on....also my Dads other work truck is a 89 chevy 1500 350 with 180k using fram filters from 30k miles on.

Now I dont use fram filters, but I cant say I agree with all the bad things :D

5K intervals are fine. Motorcraft filters work well and are a good value. I run Amsoil full synthetic oil with a K&N oil filter (anti-drain back valve). I change the oil every 5K, which considering the oil I use, is considered excessive.

Congrats on the new Stang. Any pics?

Matt :nice:

t (or the "nascar" one...i cant remember which was the wix filter right now)

Wix is the "nascar one"
Thats what I'm running.
I've been told by the guys at o'Rileys and ALL the performance gurus around here to use Wix and Royal Purple...
maybe its just this city... but absolutely EVERYONE with a high performance car runs that combo.
Along with 5K intervals.
Although as I read through this thread I have noticed that it seems to be more of an opinion.
