I am toying with the idea of selling my 03 Chrome Cobras and picking up a set of FR500s.

I am def going to go wider in the back.

I was thinking of doing a 17x9 up front and a 18x10 in the back (to get that staggered look), yet I haven't seen any good pics.

Anyone have any pics? Any reason why this is not a good idea?

i would def just go with 18x9 in the front. ive never seen 17's in the front and 18's in the rear in fr500s. The fr500s dont look right to me in 17''. i just ordered a set of black fr500s 18x9 front 18x10 rear. but thats just my .02 cents

the idea is good, but i think that there isnt that much of a size difference to notice, just enough to make people think something is off.

for some reason the only type of staggered i thought looked good on these cars is width, not diameter. I think it has to do with the shape of the body and stance.

all in all it's your decision/taste/money, but 18x9/18x10 has always looked good, but im biased :p

if you go the 18x9 and 18x10 i would either go a 265 or 275 front tire. my personal combinaiton i used 275/35/18 front and 295/35/18 rear. 315/30 look killer outback but the price is a big change from 295

I personally think that it has a lot to do with the stance of the car and the wheel/tire choice. I haven't seen a staggered 17/18 fr500 yet so I don't know.

Yeah I am thinking doing 18x9 and 18x10

275s up front 285s out back...at least that is what Nick at American Muscle recommends as far as tires go.

Thing is I love the FR500 look, and I dont think as many mustang guys have them as they have the Cobras.

I have tried finding some other wheels I like, and I keep coming back to these.

285's are good, but you'll wish for 295 or even 305 once it's all said and done.

Just trying to save you some time and money, I know I've had regret about some things so I'm trying to pass on the experience :)

285s look good in any case :nice:

What wheel finish are you thinking?

Do the 18's in front, this way it will fill up the wheel well beter. Otherwise you're gonna have to slam the front to give the car the right looking stance. And don't go any smaller than 295's in back, they wont look right and you WILL regret it.

I have FR-500's and I have 17x9 in the front and 17x10.5 in the back with 315 on the back. I like them and usually get favorable comments on them. My car is featured on Mustang world in the 99-04 section and May 2007. Just scroll dwn and look at Bo's 99 GT if you want to see what they look like.
