Got my professional (junk), I mean products today...

So I got my professional products 75mm Throttle Body and plenum today (after waiting 3 weeks while it was on backorder). I gotta say, without even putting it on the car, I won't be putting another professional product on my car again; I don't care how much more power it gives me. I'm very dissapointed in the quality of this product. The plenum is not even gasket matched (at the TB attatchment), the surface where the plenum attaches to the manifold is all marred up, and the inside of the plenum has **** loads of casting marks and enough flashing to make another plenum. With the throttle body attached to the plenum, you can see in the picture below, the openings don't even match up!! What the hell is the point? Its supposed to open up the restricted stock unit, not create them with junk casting. Not to mention the metal shavings and metal dust thats in the plenum. Does anyone clean this up, polish, or gasket match the plenum before installation? The throttle body doesn't seem to have any casting issues, looks alright.

And you can see in this one how the gasket doesn't match up with the plenum. You can also see the junk casting further down in the plenum, yea, right there, where it looks like its cracked in half. (Good thing its not) or it would def. go back.

Accufab baby! :nice:

I was actually gonna buy the accufab. I had it in the cart on AM.com, but decided to start prying around and looking into different options. I read a buncha posts here about people saying the pro products plenum/tb combo offered no more gains than the accufab unit, other than looks. I decided to save $200 on a plenum/tb and put it towards something that would be more beneficial than just a tb/plenum, like gears + tuner + headers. Oh well, I never go with my first instinct.

I had no problems with my professional products plenum and TB. Granted its probably not as nice as the accufab, but for 5hp ill spend the 200$ less...I just cant justify spending 400$ for 1 or 2 extra hp...

i was in the same boat about buying the p/p stuff then i found a guy selling his for 125 shipped for an accufab 75mm and matching plenum. So I had to snag it, its a nice piece.

BBK here...no issues with quality, or fit and finish to speak of. I have used Professional Products stuff in the past, and its quality has always been sub standard to say the least. Reminds me of the old "Racers Choice" stuff that Mac used to sell back in the day. Garbage Made Cheap!!!

You're assuming horsepower is the only thing you might have to give up. I've seen sub par throttle bodies whistle like crazy, leak air around the throttle blade and worst of all stick at idle. You guys who have them may have gotten lucky. Seeing poor craftsmanship like the pictures above tells me Proffesional Products isn't above having these issues in some cases.
