Ok so my clutch cable broke the other day because it melted against the header. now several other problems have accured. i have put two cables in it and they have both broken at the same spot. right at the firewall the plastic that keeps it from goin through sheared off on both. first thought it was the quadrant not adjustin but the secound cable it was rachetting and was fine. Some tell me its the clutch but it was fine before the the cable melted. and some say its the quadrant pullin it to far. if anyone has an explanation or has exprienced this please help. im ready to run it off a cliff.

Sometimes the cable is inadvertantly misrouted around the K/mounts and it causes issues.

I would go with a Ford cable of one flavor or another (either a non-adjustable replacement or a MM universal).

I had the same problem with a steeda adj cable i was adj it every 2 days under the car my firewall adj wasnt moving, so i bought a non adj oem style cable from 50resto for i think 39.99 So when i took the old cable out i saw the end that buts the firewall adj had blown out the metal wire housing supports blew right out thats why when i adj it it would only last 2 days cause the adj was going right out end of cable housing. THE FIX= the non adj oem style cable i bought has like a nut at end of cable by the firewall adj which keeps wire supports from blowing out, i have not had a problem since good luck:nice:
