Roller rocker alignment

I have more roller rocker noise than I'd like (even though I put in new lifters and adjusted them carefully) so I took off the valve covers and noticed that several of the Proform rocker arm roller tips are not centered over the valve stem tips. How do you move them a few degrees right or left? Special tool? Will that change the alignment of the push rod at the guide plates? TIA. Tom

you might try swapping rockers between cylinders. find one that is say to the left, and swap it with one that is to the right slightly. this might work for you. also check the rocker arm studs for proper alignment.

I'll try swapping. Also, I don't understand what locates the rocker on the stud, pointing in a specific direction. It seems like if I could turn the stud a few degrees that would solve it.

The pushrod guide plates are what aligns the rockers on the valve stem tips.
Could be the guide plates are made for larger diameter pushrods. Also make sure the guide plates aren't wearing into the pushrods. You need hardened pushrods with guide plates.

You can get afjustable guide plates. Or cut the ones you have in half, line them up and welf them back together.

The current guide plates and heads are Edelbrock. The roller rockers are Proform. The push rods are hardened and there is no wear on the rods. I suspect that the Proform rocker shafts were not drilled exactly perpendicular to the arms. Of the 16 there are about 6 that are not centered over the valve stems. Thanks for the thought about adjustable guide plates. I was not aware of them. My welding skills are too elementary to make such precise changes.
