When my mechanic read codes on my 04 Cobra, it showed I need O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2. I installed it, cleared code, then drove it a few miles and it came back on. Now his reader shows bank 1 sensor 2 stuck lean. Any help?

maybe you need a new mechanic.. was the code po171? your mechanic should be telling you what the problem is,,not you asking ....just kiddn

for help we need more information on car...vacuum leaks/pcv valve are most common for this code,,,air filter configuration,,cai?

how many miles on car?

Bank 1 sensor 2 is also the rear after cat O2 sensor. The rear O2 sensors do not control mixture.

Suspect the OP actually meant "sensor 1".

Or maybe the OP meant bank 2 sensor 1 which would be the front driver's side.

bank 1 sensor 1 - front right hand
bank 1 sensor 2 - rear right hand
bank 2 sensor 1 - front left hand
bank 2 sensor 2 - rear left hand

OBTW; the number one reason for a chronic lean condition is a vacuum leak. #2 is an exhaust leak.

If this is on sensor 21, this could be a leak in the EGR tube.
