93 FOX vs 03 COBRA... what would you guys do?

for all of you who are saying the IRS is one of the things that makes the car so good... have you actually ever worked on one of the IRS's before? its a giant PITA... they wheel hop like a FWD car the axles are pretty much junk... to upgrade it correctly you need to drop the IRS out and put poly bushings in everywhere among other things. i honestly dont miss working on that part of the car at all!

Keep the Fox, like everyone else said, if it was a real Cobra it would be a different story. I was considering dumping my 91 before I got my Cobra, but I'm glad I didn't. I still have a lot more work to do to it, but Foxes are getting more rare.

the only thing i would get rid of my fox for is an 03-04 cobra, a REAL one. that being said, i still had to put the 03 cobra wheels on my fox... BTW i have no clue why thats upside down???

Real 93 Fox = $6-8k
Real 03-04 Cobra = $20+

I'll probably never be able to afford a real 03-04 Cobra. But I don't want to be a poser either haha.

Never say never. In 2003 I priced one. With 10K down, it would have still been 600 a month, + insurance. So, I spent 5K on my 96 Cobra and made 414RWHP. I could do some damage for a few years with that car, till all the sudden 600-700rwhp was the norm. So in 2008, I finally could afford an 03-04 and bought one. I got my 04 with 5,400 miles and the Whipple for a steal IMO. The guy needed money, had no loan out on the car and wasn't asking all that much.

BTW...put some 03-04 Cobra wheels on your fox. I love that look cause the fox to me, resembles the 99-04 body style with the fender flares, ya know?

Or we could just trade my 93 for your 03 :D:D

I just think the Cobra looks so bad ass from the front/side/rear. This is a Cobra for sale on coral which looks very similar to the Fobra I was looking at.

I know I may be the voice of dissent here...but Im inclined to say do it. Drove my 94 to work today 20 miles and it just drives so much nicer than my fox did. Its not like youll be getting a slow car plus throw a vortech on it and I think you'll be happy. You clearly are still really considering it or this thread would have died quickly. You can always just get rid of the snake badges any way and the cobra front looks so good on those.

Don't do it... sell everything and pickup a real terminator there not too expensive now.

That clone is just another slow 2 valve car and will require a ton of money to get any kind of decent time slips out of it.. it's a heavier car and harder to squeeze power out it of not to mention a good bit harder to do installs/repairs on.

94+ cars do ride better than foxes to a point. I've had all original foxes, I've had foxes slammed with springs and stock but good used struts. And now I have my current car. 91 GT with stock V8 springs, the modular 4V engine, brand new Monroe struts and shocks and it rides beautiful. It's the best riding fox I've ever had.

Seats make a difference in the ride too. I have 99-04 style seats in it, which are LOWEST on the comfort list because they are very firm and hard. Fox seats and 94-98 seats are the most comfortable seats, so IMO, no matter the suspension combo, go with 94-98 seats if you don't want to keep fox seats.
