Mach 1 Grille Delete Question

Looking to purchase the Mach 1 Grill Delete kit for my '03 GT. Is it easier to purchase the 3 piece kit for an extra $35 or just modify the stock grille frame. Watched the install video on American Muscle and they use the 3rd piece grill frame. Doesn't look too hard to modify the stock frame, but want to make sure all of the black plastic color matches. Anyone have any experience modifying the 3rd piece grill frame? Can use the $35 saved towards a chin spoiler, but still want to make sure it looks good.

The factory price can be easily modified. It will look slightly difference, but you cant tell unless you look up close and compare to a car with the Mach specific piece. When I did my 03 gt grill, I got the 3 piece kit. (they were $50 back then) and when I took the gt inner grill trim out, I remarked that it could easily be modified to work. There are some slight visual differences like I said. The Mach price looks more finished, but it's the outer trim that will really make the visual impact anyway

Thanks all for the input. I'll give it a try without the 3rd piece and put the money towards a chin spoiler. Car is in storage for the Ohio winter (sucks), but these should be easy to install if it warms up a bit.

Instead of buying a chin spoiler and grill delete, you could go with a Roush stage 3 nose. No black plastic pieces. Much better!:nice:

Love the look, but I'm sure this costs much more than $150 to modify. Any idea on the total cost? Would rather put the money into some engine mods.

Maybe 400 for the nose. Then you need to paint it. Its definitely a more expensive option, but it turns out nice. I had the chin spoiler etc before, and this looks way better. Much cleaner than having plastic bits tacked on all over the place.

Um yea this is definately the way I am going. Clear amber headlights and Roush front. A question or 2 for the Roush bumper guys and sorry to threadjack: 1. What bulbs do the foglights use, same as stock gt's? 2. Are the foglights clear as in the picture or where those not the ones that came with the bumper? My smart purchase before the bumper is new headlights so I am trying to match the 2 as closely as possible.

I like the roush grill, but in my honest opinion..... Mach 1 front > roush

I remember when I had my gt with the Mach effects, I tried like he'll to find one of those roush floating corral grills.

If your talking about the shaker with it then yes its a killer look, but without the shaker it looks just like a gt. I wouldn't mind the shaker setup with the chin spoiler but without it I don't like it. It's the easy thing to do and yea it doesn't look awful but I just like the roush bumper more personally. I'm not sure if I want the corral actually or not, its a different look but I kinda like just the pony there.

I have the stock Roush bulbs in the fogs. The fogs come in the kit with the nose. I bought the 380R kit that comes with the stage 3 wing also. Cheapest place is Stage 3 Motorsports. Find them on ebay and make them an offer, or call and offer. They will negotiate.
I painted the corral piece to match the rest of the car. I like that it fills out a little more of the grill area. This nose also looks good for future intercooler installation. Theres a huge grill opening there thats begging for it.
Clear corner lights are from American muscle. Silverstar bulbs and silver/yellow signal bulbs.
