V8 Swap
Since you have the donor here is what I would do:
The most important thing is to get some system to keep your parts and bolts segregated. I would get plastic "baggies" and keep the bolts in baggies and label them. Also I would mark SAE Thread or Metric thread and the size wrench that fits them. I just went thru what you are about to do. There will be many things on the donor car that will be a standard thread and will be metric on the later model. There is no rhyme or reason what is SAE and and what is metric. I experienced this on removing a motor and transmission from an 88GT and putting it in a 92 GT. Get a digital camera and take pictures for future reference. Believe me the length of time it takes to do this you will not remember what bolts go where.
I would switch out components one for one as much as I could. I would re move the rear end from the GT and put it in the other car before I would take on another part of the car.
I would remove engine and transmission together. I would change out the entire front end as a unit. (K-frame,shocks,upper and
lower control arms, spindles and brake rotors)
Small things you will need to change out is the master cylinder and power booster, pedal assembly, computer and engine wiring assembly.
I would not get rid of the donor car until everything was completed and working on the new car. I think every thing on the old car will work on the later model.
