FLorida Keys
I went to the store to grab some donuts...(go figure!), as I was walking back to my 2004 V6 mustang, the remote control would not work...thinking it was just the battery in the remote, I opened the door the old fashion way with the key. When inside, I heard a bell chime that was going off constantly and the interior overhead light was on, but I could not control either. I decided to get home and check it out there, as I left the parking lot, I noticed that, nothing electrical worked...the wipers, brake light, nothing, but the car was running fine.
I got home took the fuse panel cover off ...pushed it back on and the lights and blinker were working again, however, the interior light and the chime were still active...is there a reset procedure I need to know about ?... I am sure it is a fuse or electrical problem, and I will work on it after my donuts...of course... Has anyone run into this problem and can help...this will save me from pulling out what little hair I have left!

There is another fuse box inside the car just under the steering colum kind of hidden. Give that one a check see if any more fuses went out. When one fuse goes out most likely another followes with it.

Thanks, I checked the one under the steering wheel and they all appear good. I did not check the one under the hood, however, I used a code reader and no code was detected. I checked the electrical about 2 hours later after disconnecting the battery and it seems to be fine now with no chime or interior light going off. Someone suggested a possible ground being wet....Have you heard of that and is it possible?

Last time i had something electrical happen to me, i checked both fuse boxes and replaced fuses that were out. Unhooked the battery for about 45 min to let the computer reset. Everything started to work fine after that and have had no problem since then. I havent heard of any grounding being wet. Thats a new one for me with the electrical grounding being wet. I havent heard of that one but hey that might be it.

Let me know what you find out.
