catback piping size

Hey guys im new to this forum and i was wondering if i could get some feed back. im getting a custom catback for my 87 fox 5.0 and i was wondering what size tubing would be good. im using the stock flowmaster mufflers.

A dual 2.25" system is big enough to support 400fwhp. Upsizing the system to 2.50" would support 500fwhp.

Just go 2.5" I feel like its a lot more common and easier to find. 3" would be extremely unnecessary for a mild application. Any pics of the car? Those wheels look pretty big.

If you've got balls, 3". If you've got sense, 2.5". If you've got less than 8 cylinders, 2.25".

I'm sure some exhaust shops can piece together a catback for relatively cheap with spare pipe, he probably doesn't mean "custom", just custom, ya know.

yea sorry guys didn't mean "custom" just new piping. i went with 2.5in thanks guys. sounds nice. n yea heres my car. their 19's
