Got the short shifter in. Big improvement.
Lemme know how you like it, I'm looking at one. How much shorter is the handle vs the stock. The crap American muscle shifter I have is too short. I'd also like to know how the 2nd to 3rd shift is if u don't mind

2-3 shift is good. Just push the handle forward and it goes into third. No effort needed to sweep to the right on the 2-3 shift.

put some silicone around the base of the shifter and make sure you have the rubber insulator boot installed down tight to keep road noise out.

Did it. You actually cut out the factory dust boot to fit around the body of the shifter. They give you a template so you know the general size. Just don't cut it too big. A tad small is no biggie since the rubber will stretch around the body.

Biggest pain in the ass is scraping all the old rtv off the top of the housing.

Man that sounds nice. So no more right and then up for 3rd? It's not real short and stubby is it? (Yes, that's what she said) If one still has decent leverage w the stick I think that's the one for me.

I drove a car once that had a Pro 5.0 and really liked it. The only thing that turned me off about it was the extremely short handle. I think in the future I may just purchase a Pro 5.0 and bolt a Tri-Ax handle to it. Is it noisy? I've always noticed a lot of extra noise with a Tri-Ax.
