My new ride does 10.68 in the 1/4. Any guesses?

So I drove home my new toy today. As I said, it turns a 10.68 second 1/4 mile. I'll post pics tomorrow. Until then, who's got a guess as to what it is?

New Bassani side exit is here

New parts came in for the GTS. I ended up getting the stainless steel Bassani side exit catback and another triax for the T56. Everyone has seen a triax so I won't bother with pics of it. Besides, I already installed it. But here are a few of the exhaust. The right side of the system...

Deciding on Suspension: Panhard Bar vs. Watts Link

This came up in another thread and so I thought I'd share a little bit about some of the pros and cons of a Panhard Bar and a Watts Link. Panhard Bars vs. Watts Links A Panhard Bar (PHB) and Watts Link (WL) are simply suspension components that control the lateral (side to side) movement...

Got my new Evolution Motorsport suspension parts! (Another long post with pics)

As many of you know, I'm into handling in a big way. Straight-line acceleration is sweet, don't get me wrong, but I just love the feeling of a slow entry into a fast sweeping turn and feeling the lateral G-forces trying to pull you out the window. Doing 130 and feeling the tires bite into the...

    Roush Intake Dyno Numbers

For those of you who remember me installing the all coveted Roush 3-piece intake (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=483948), you may recall that I planned on getting a dyno done afterwards to see exactly how much I was gaining. Well, life got in the way and I didn't get around to it...

Dang cold weather killed my balancer!

I checked the timing this morning and it was 22* base. Umm, wtf? So after some investigation... sure enough, the balancer had spun. Oh well. I'm at 115k miles anyways so it was scheduled to die. I'm just annoyed that this is just more money I've dumped into the car (almost $6k in the last...

Viper Spec T56 and parts finally arrived (DUW)

Since the future motor is probably going to put out more power at an idle than the stock T5 can handle, I figured that a new transmission was definitely going to be needed. So what’s a guy to do? Call D & D Performance of course and order up a balanced and blueprinted Viper spec T56...

More goodies for the motor: Dry Sump Oil Pan

The Fedex guy dropped it off a little while ago. It's a used NASCAR 351W oil pan. It's set up for dry sump operation (I'm committed now) and is off of one of their road race motors. Since NASCAR only runs two road races a year, this is a somewhat rare pan. This also has built in wrist pin...

Got the GTS weighed today... Wow

    About 2 years ago when it was still fairly stock, she weighed in at 3260#. This morning she came in at 3007#. :nice: That was with 1/8 fuel indicated. Car w/o driver LF = 891 RF = 867 LR = 612 RR = 637 Total = 3007 F/R% = 58.46 / 41.54 L/R% = 49.98 / 50.02 Car w/ driver and race...

Bought me a new toy - Caster/camber gauge

I've gotten sick of doing my alignments with a t-square, tape measure, and level. I've been eyeing the Longacre caster/camber gauges for awhile and finally decided to get one. I went ahead and popped for the billet aluminum version as opposed to plastic. I can't wait to play with...

    Roush 3-piece intake install madness!!!

I finally got a weekend to myself (well, mostly to myself anyways) and so I'm installing the Roush Intake (for background, see the thread here). I started last night on the disassembly as I had a couple of free hours. I got the top end tore off with the exception of the lower. This morning I...

Got the baseline dyno done today

For those of you who read this thread, I finally got the baseline dyno done so I can have an accurate idea of what the intake does for me. The mods: K&N Bassani offroad X-pipe Bassani quiet thunder catback ASP pullies Accesories bypassed 113K miles on a motor that's never had the valve...

The GTS got a new hood today

In preparation for the roush intake install (it won't fit under the stock hood), I went ahead and bought a new hood for the GTS. It's a 95 Cobra R hood (standard height) from Kainen. It weighed in at 26# vs the stock hood at 41# for 15# of loss. I was a little dissapointed as I was hoping for...

FedEx brought my intake! Ever seen one of these?

The Roush 3-piece intake. Available on the 94-95 Stage 3 Roush cars, only about 100 (to my knowledge) were built and sold. Roush claimed a 47 hp increase with nothing other than this intake and the "kit" it came with. Just for scale, that's a 65mm TB sitting next to it (included in the...

I'm extremely bored, so here's my engine plans for your review

I'm sitting down in Miami waiting to hop on a plane and I'm bored bored bored. Of course, my mind starts gravitating towards the motor for the GTS. The suspension is pretty much all done and so the motor is going to be started real soon. Of course I haven't sat down to figure the details...
