Cutting V6 bumper for driver's exhaust

It's Done!!! With the help of a friend and his four post lift, we installed the duals yesterday. Turned out pretty good for two people who've never installed an exhaust system before. I tell you, it's a "butterflies-in-the-stomach" feeling after you saw off the stock exhaust and look at it...

Cutting V6 bumper for driver's exhaust

This Saturday I will be installing the Pypes SFM65 dual exhaust system on my '06. For mufflers, I'll be installing a set of GT take-offs. If anyone else has done this, what did you use to cut the rear bumper fascia for the driver's side exhaust tip? I've got the cutting template from Pypes, but...

Driver side muffler hanger - tapped holes?

I've got an '06 Pony-package that I'm about to install the Pypes SFM65 dual exhaust system on. I'll be using a set of GT take-off mufflers. I've got the stock hangers for the mufflers and have made sure that the holes in the hangers line up with the factory mounting points in the frame; but...

    $1,000 incentive for 2006 Mustangs

That's true that the additional rebates could be regional...hadn't thought of that. I found about them on www.edmunds.com, and they ask for your zip code prior to letting you know about available rebates. I did notice it said that the $500 "cash to customer" rebate ends on May 31st.

    $1,000 incentive for 2006 Mustangs

Yes. I purchased my '06 Pony-package last week, and I was given a $500 "cash-to-customer" rebate, along with an additional $500 for financing through Ford Credit. There is also an additional $500 rebate for full and part-time college students, a $500 rebate for active military personel, and a...

Anyone have a bra on their 05-06?

I just bought my black '06 last week, and am looking to purchase a full front end cover (bra) for it. I don't plan on keeping it there all the time, just during the late spring and late summer. Down here in south Mississippi we get the love bug swarms twice a year, and unless you feel like...

    Black/Black vs. Black/Tan

Black, Black, Black I just purchased my black '06, Pony-package Mustang last Monday. On the lot, they had two Pony-package equipped, black '06's. One with the beige interior and one with the dark charcoal (black) interior. IMHO, it was no contest. The black interior looked far better than the...

Broken Mustang hood hinge stud replacement?

Is there any way to replace a broken hood hinge stud on a 2000 GT hood? I can't imagine that if a stud breaks you throw away the hood?

Broken late model hood stud replacement?

Is there any way to replace a broken hood hinge stud on a 2000 Mustang hood? I have a GT hood with a broken stud I want to install on my V6 coupe. I can't imagine that if one of the studs breaks, you throw the whole hood away?

Installing GT driving lights in a 2000 V6?

I was wondering how much trouble it is to install a set of GT driving lights into my 2000 V6 Coupe's front fascia. Is the wiring already in place in the car from behind the fascia area to the console? If so, I was looking at buying a set of used lights with their mounting brackets, and a factory...

2002 engine tick and idle surge

I'm glad I'm not the only one.... My 2000 has 53,000+ miles on it, and I have been hearing that tick since I purchased it with 29,000 miles on it. It doesn't do it all the time, but when it does it is a consistant rhythm tick that makes me think of an exhaust leak or valvetrain tick. I hope...

    Meat-grinder spark plug location...

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Ford designed the number three spark plug location on the 2000 Mustang 3.8 V6 to be a deterent to ever working on your own car again? After ripping my hands to shreds on all the plumbing snaking through that area, I finally got my plugs replaced. My...

2000 Rear Brake Caliper - Help Please

Went to install new brakes on my 2000 V6 for the first time this past weekend. I swapped out the front pads, no problem. But, I was not able to collapse the rear disc brake calipers. According to my Haynes, you collapse them by turning the piston clock-wise with a special tool or a pair of...

    Whats this noise...

Boy, I'm glad someone started this thread! I purchased my 2000 in June with 30k miles on it. Since then, it has started to develop an acceleration knock. Higher octane gas seems to help, but I thought it strange that an engine with so few miles would knock on 87 octane. This may be my problem.
