    Will this work (T5z)

My '65 is a T code. The original starter that was on the six cylinder engine worked just fine on my 6 bolt 289 with a C6ZE-6380-A 28oz flywheel. Later, when I swapped out the 289 for a '85 302, I used the same starter again with a 50oz flywheel from a '93 5.0HO engine. That flywheel is now...

    GT40 upper question

Eric, The Falcon had a tan interior with blue cam lock lap belts up front. Sorry, I put the parenthesis in the wrong spot. PDC=Product Development Center. Across the street from Greenfield Village. The export brace came from Laurel Mountain. It's a knock off of the Maier Racing brace...

    GT40 upper question

The Cobra is the longest (widest). Meaning the EGR is part of the manifold, not a seperate piece. The Explorer and GT40 are the same width as the stock and are/were intended to use the EGR spacer. I am using an Explorer in my '65 Mustang with a Pro M flow tube. It wouldn't fit if the stock...

AFR 185 heads - what is this hole for?

You're correct. Stock 5.0's have a tube that bolts there (in the adjacent 1/4" bolt hole) and the air is pumped into the spot where yours in leaking. The two sets of Edelbrocks that I've had/have, came with threaded plugs to put in there. I just used red lock tite when I put them in and...

    horn and turn signal problem

Did these just start being a problem and at the same time? Have you had the wheel off recently and/or the column loosened? On my '65, I loosened the bracket under the dash that holds the column because my tach wire was under it. Anyway, the column moved down the shaft a bit. Not a lot, but...

    Need some EFI recommendations

Eric, Just read this post today (catching up as I haven't been on here in a while). Anyway, I was able to get my car running over the weekend with an EFI conversion started two and half years ago. The swap didn't take that long, it's all the other stuff that life threw at me. My setup is...

    edelbrock heads info

There is a part number (6022, 6025, etc) cast in the area where the valve springs are. That's for the base casting. This will get you part of the way there. From there, you can look at things like the intake valve size 1.90 or 2.02, screw in rocker studs or pedestal mount to determine if...

    Pics Needed: Hood Prop Rod

Another option (once you remove the hinge springs) is to take a small length of light gauge chain or a cable and place it where the spring used to hook on the hinge. At the rear, use an "S" hook or one of the threaded repair links to keep the chain attached to the hinge. Just a thought.

    Boneyard electric fan

Eric, Can't answer your Mk8 specific questions either, but I do know that your favorite junkyard (mine too) had a couple Mk8's a few days before Christmas. They even had a V-8 '65 Mustang right out front (which is really odd for our part of the country). Any way, I picked up this fan from...

    EFI Surge (header tank) question

Just doing some basic math, the Mr. Gasket is 42gph or 158.97lph. I think the Walbro may suck the surge tank dry.

CTS-V Calipers, anyone tried to use them?

Here is a shot of the '65 TBird caliper. It's about 9" long. Perspective is off from the tape measure on the floor and the portion of the caliper closest to the camera.

CTS-V Calipers, anyone tried to use them?

Cobra rotors are 28mm thick (1.10"). The CV's are 30mm (1.18"). Just info. The Cobra's mounting brackets only have 32mm between surfaces that go over the rotor. Yes. My mistake on the number of pistons, but yes. I will take a picture of one of my '65 TBird calipers with the measuring tape...

CTS-V Calipers, anyone tried to use them?

It won't work behind the 15" wheel. Even a 16" is too close. I work for Ford and have CAD data of these parts and access to brake engineers. I've laid it all out (not guess work), but whatever. Not ready to give that out to the world yet. Might want to see if either of the "brake...
