What intakes are good high flow ones for a 393 build up? I know edelbrock makes a 5.8l victor intake with 75mm tb open but Trickflow makes ther 90mm Tb open R series box intakes too. Which ones have you guys had good luck with?
Your EFI choices are limited to the Performer, Victor 351, the TFS R and TFS Box, or you could have a Super Victor carb manifold modded to make a Spyder set-up.
Just looking at ideas at the moment. My main interest is if that 75mm to 90mm jump is worth it on a N/a 393 hci motor. Throwing ideas around for now. I'm liking the trickflow head results i see on the small block fords.
I have an edelbrock victor junior carb lower that has been converted for EFI with injector bungs welded in and fuel rails. If you are interested in it, let me know.
I was going to use it as a Spyder-like setup with my 410 with something like an Edelbrock 3848 elbow and a fox throttle body, but then the Fairlane became my project and the wife made me agree to sell the Mustang.
honestly if your staying all motor, the 75mm t/b opening is fine. if later you decide to add some type of power adder, you could benefit from a larger t/b; however.
I just bought a Foxbody with a TFS R on a 392 crate motor with AFR heads and it runs great, pulls REALLY hard in the midrange. I could always bolt on the box upper and give it a try also but I love how much midrange torque it has so I probably won't. Mines a 75mm. Since I don't drag race it I would rather have the torque for pulling out of corners The TFS R will give you a broad power band which is great fun
If I remember right the Edelbrock has No PCV hole so thats something you have to hassle with.
