5.0 alternator upgrade question

My car when i bought had one of the alternators with the internal cooling fan. It doesn't seem to be a 130, it barely puts out enough to run my taurus fan, are there internal cooling fan alternators that are below 130 amps, and at this point would it be a direct drop in for a PA performance 130 amp?

No one is going to know what alternator is in your car. Does it have any part numbers on it? It could be a 130 Amp 3G with a dropped diode or a 95 amp unit.

What size charge cable does it have? If not at least 4 AWG, it will not be enough for a 130 amp alternator.

I beleive there is a 90A alt that uses an internal fan. Hard toknow without pics.

Have you put a volt meter on the output and see what the voltage is at idle?
