is this a fair estimate? i'm keeping the rear seats.

- roll bar 4-point Mustang = $195
- install roll bar labor = ($70/hr)(5.7hrs) = $399
- modify roll bar + interior to fit w/seat & full trim = ($70/hr)(6hrs) = $420
- surcharge for MIG welding provided = $20
- freight charge incoming from N Florida = $100

Total = $1149.05 (w/7% tax)

i'm also adding the removable cross bar which will come out to a grand total of $1720.

Damn that's a lotta $$$$ for a roll bar!!!!!!!!
My 347 stroker shortblock didn't cost that much. If it were me I would spend the $199 for the roll bar and install it myself.

Holy Mother of ******! Is it gold-plated?

I'd take your money, but since Im not in Miami I'll just give some advice :D

Get a Comp Engineering bar from Jeg's or your local speed shop. Its ~175.00 or so IIRC. Find a welder to install a 4-point out of it (it can make a 6 or 8-point, but you dont need all that). You dont need a 'freight charge' for something you can get at any speed shop. Use some of your own labor to work it around your interior, save some of that double-charge there.

Go to the Comp Engineering website, they have all the part #s for various cars, and find your application.

I think it's very obvious that doing it yourself is cheaper, so I don't know why everyone is comparing the total cost estimate (with labor) to a DIY job.

It may be better to ask if 12 hours of labor is about right for the job you described.
