Hey guys, I just laid down $250 for an AFM powerpipe for a 2001 GT with a Vortech supercharger. Tonight I spent a few hours trying to install this thing. What a job. I got the pipe hooked up and looking good. Then I went undeneath the car to reinstall the air filter, MAF sensor, IAC sensor, and the black piece of rubber they give you to hold all of that stuff together. This is where all my trouble began.
First off, all of that stuff won't physically fit in the fenderwell. It is way to long. My air filter which is a K&N that Vortech gave me would be practically dragging on the ground.
The other problem is that because everything is so long, the plug that goes to the MAF won't reach the meter. And the IAC plug will not reach the hole in the plastic tube. Not even close. What the hell is going on here? My instructions state that the pipe fits a 2001 Vortech GT. I doubt they gave me the wrong pipe.
Has anyone else put one of these pipes on or have any suggestions for me? Please help. There is no way I can see this pipe working.
