air bag?

I am a driver of a 94 mustang and yesterday i had to remove my front bumper for paint and on the passenger side there was something like a metal tupe that says CAUTION 25LBS. this made it a bare to remove the bumper and since its off now i was just wondering what it is and if i could take it off?

i have no clue what it is but i think its for the airbags when the front bumper gets crushed. my airbag light is on anyways so i think its not attached anyway so i dont see why i would need that
